Where it came from
FN-2199, affectionately dubbed TR-8R by fans, was introduced in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens as a First Order riot control stormtrooper. The character gained viral fame following a brief but intense skirmish with Finn on Takodana, where he utilized a Z6 riot control baton. Funko released this figure as part of its Star Wars Pop! line to capture the excitement surrounding the film's breakout minor characters.
The figure features the character's distinct weathering and the specialized melee weapon that defined his brief appearance. As part of the broader Force Awakens series, the design follows the standardized aesthetic of Funko's vinyl collectibles, emphasizing the character's unique combat gear. It was well-received by collectors who sought to complete their display of the film's expanding cast of troopers and antagonists.
