Where it came from
The Freddy Funko as Pinocchio figure was produced as a limited edition release for the 2020 Funko Virtual Con. This piece honors the intersection of Funko’s mascot, Freddy Funko, and the classic character of Pinocchio, celebrating the company's tradition of merging its corporate identity with iconic figures from cinema and folklore. The design aesthetic draws directly from the classic Disney adaptation, reimagining Freddy in the iconic attire of the wooden boy.
This specific iteration is distinguished by the 'sketched' variant treatment, which applies a stylized, hand-drawn aesthetic to the standard vinyl mold. The design team sought to evoke the appearance of concept art or a living illustration, offering a departure from the solid, matte paint applications typical of the standard Funko Pop line. It was met with high interest from the collecting community due to its limited run and unique finish, solidifying its place as a niche piece within the wider Freddy Funko catalog.
