Freddy (SDCC Shirt)

The Freddy Funko as Willy Wonka figure, designated as number 50 in the Pop! Freddy Funko line, was released as a promotional exclusive for the San Diego Comic-Con. This iteration of the company mascot, Freddy Funko, is dressed in the iconic attire of Willy Wonka, blending the brand’s signature character with the classic aesthetic from the 1971 film. It represents the long-standing tradition of Funko releasing convention-specific variants that celebrate pop culture milestones through their distinctive stylized vinyl format.

The design draws directly from Gene Wilder’s portrayal of the eccentric candy maker, featuring the character's characteristic top hat, purple tailcoat, and cane. Like many early Freddy Funko convention exclusives, this piece was intended as a limited tribute for attendees, reflecting the brand’s evolution from a small collectibles firm into a global cultural phenomenon. It is widely considered a staple piece among serious collectors due to its status as a crossover between the company's internal mascot and a foundational piece of cinema history.
