Where it came from
Future Mai was released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line, specifically representing the Dragon Ball Super franchise. The character serves as the resistance leader from the dark, desolate alternate timeline where Goku Black has ravaged the planet, and her inclusion in the figure series highlights her critical role in the Future Trunks Saga. The design captures her rugged, pragmatic aesthetic, complete with her signature dark vest and ammunition pouches, reflecting the grim survivalist tone of her character arc.
Funko designed this figure to align with the standard stylized proportions of the Animation collection, emphasizing her utilitarian gear and determined expression. Like many entries in the Dragon Ball Super series, the figure was created to appeal to fans of the show who collect key supporting characters alongside the primary Saiyan protagonists. It was met with modest interest from the collector community, particularly among those who value completing their Future Trunks Saga rosters.
