Where it came from
Goose the Cat, stylized as a Funko Pop! figure, was released in 2019 to coincide with the theatrical debut of the Marvel Studios film Captain Marvel. The figure captures the Flerken disguised as a house cat, a character that gained significant popularity for its comedic role and surprising plot twist in the film. This specific variant features a flocked finish, a tactile, felt-like texture applied to the vinyl to mimic the appearance of soft fur.
The Pop! Marvel line is designed by Funko’s internal creative team, who adapt various cinematic and comic book characters into their signature aesthetic featuring oversized heads and minimalist features. The flocked variant was produced as a specialty item for collectors who appreciate unique finishes beyond the standard smooth vinyl production. It reflects the broader strategy of the Marvel line to capitalize on specific character moments that resonated with audiences during the franchise's peak cultural influence.
