Where it came from
The Great Saiyaman Funko Pop, numbered 970 in the Animation series, represents Gohan’s superhero alter ego from the Dragon Ball Z franchise. Introduced during the Great Saiyaman Saga, this persona was created by Gohan to fight crime in Satan City while keeping his identity secret from his classmates. The figure captures his signature disguise, featuring the iconic green cape, orange jumpsuit, and the distinct black-and-white helmet with the red visor.
Funko’s design team developed this piece to translate Akira Toriyama's character aesthetic into the brand's signature stylized form. By distilling the character's eccentric heroic attire into a simplified vinyl format, the figure appeals to collectors who appreciate the humor and shift in tone that the Saiyaman arc brought to the series. It remains a staple of the broader Dragon Ball Z collection, recognized for its faithful recreation of one of the series' most recognizable, albeit campy, costume designs.
