Where it came from
The Green Troll Pop! figure, numbered 7 within the Trolls series, was released by Funko to celebrate the enduring cultural legacy of the Trolls toy line. First created by Danish woodcutter Thomas Dam in the late 1950s, the Trolls became a global phenomenon characterized by their distinctive spiky, colorful hair and wide, mischievous grins. Funko’s iteration translates these iconic features into their signature stylized aesthetic, featuring the oversized head and simplified proportions that define the Pop! line.
The design process for this figure focused on capturing the nostalgic essence of the original dolls while adapting them to the cohesive look of the Pop! vinyl series. The vibrant green coloration pays homage to the wide spectrum of hair and body colors available during the dolls' peak popularity in the 1960s and 1990s. Upon release, the figure was received primarily by nostalgia-driven collectors and enthusiasts of modern pop culture, serving as a tangible link to a toy design that has spanned multiple generations of childhood play.
