Hardy Har Har

Hardy Har Har was introduced as part of the Funko Pop! Pez line, a fusion series that combines the company’s signature stylized vinyl aesthetics with the nostalgic mechanics of Pez candy dispensers. This particular figure, numbered 276, represents the melancholic hyena from the 1962 Hanna-Barbera animated series Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har. The design captures the character's signature dejected expression and his iconic bowler hat, echoing the character's role as the cynical straight man to Lippy the Lion's ill-fated schemes.

The figure reflects the broader mid-century revival interest that fueled Funko’s deep dives into the Hanna-Barbera catalog during the late 2010s. By blending the Pop! format with the heritage of Pez, the collection sought to bridge two distinct avenues of pop-culture collecting. Upon release, it was received primarily by animation historians and toy enthusiasts as a faithful, if niche, tribute to a classic television duo that had largely faded from contemporary mainstream programming.
