Where it came from
Ickis was released by Funko as part of their Pop! Animation line, drawing from the 1994 Nickelodeon animated series Aaahh!!! Real Monsters. The figure captures the character's signature wide-eyed, rabbit-like appearance, complete with his oversized ears and distinctive red color palette. This item was created to appeal to 1990s nostalgia, reflecting the show's cult status as a staple of the network's golden era of animation.
The design of the figure leans into the exaggerated proportions characteristic of the Pop! style, effectively translating the work of the show's original character designers into the vinyl format. As a 'Scary' variant, the figure represents the central protagonist's struggle to embrace his role as a monster at the Monster Academy. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the series who had long sought merchandise celebrating the surreal, grotesque, yet charming aesthetic of Klasky Csupo productions.
