Where it came from
Jar Jar Binks entered the Funko Pop! Star Wars lineup as number 777, a release timed to celebrate the enduring, if complex, legacy of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The figure is designed in the characteristic Funko aesthetic, featuring the oversized head, simplified facial features, and distinct wide-eyed expression that define the Pop! style. By assigning this character the number 777, Funko leaned into the numerical significance often sought by collectors, positioning the Gungan as a notable addition to the expansive Star Wars catalog.
The design seeks to translate the CGI-heavy appearance of the character from The Phantom Menace into a compact, stylized vinyl form. The figure captures his signature floppy ears and long-limbed posture, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities that have guided the Star Wars Pop! line since its inception. While the character remains a divisive figure among the franchise's fanbase, this particular collectible has been received as a standard completionist piece, serving as a representation of one of the most recognized characters in modern cinematic history.
