Where it came from
Jiren made his debut as part of the Dragon Ball Super Pop! Animation series, representing the stoic and immensely powerful antagonist from the Tournament of Power arc. Funko designed this figure to capture his imposing stature and iconic gray-and-red uniform, aiming to provide fans with a high-fidelity collectible that mirrors his presence in the anime. The release was timed to coincide with the enduring popularity of the Dragon Ball Super franchise as it expanded its global reach.
The character design for Jiren by Akira Toriyama focused on a minimalist but intimidating aesthetic, which Funko translated into their signature stylized vinyl form. As part of the wider Dragon Ball catalog, this specific Pop! figure was received by collectors as a vital addition for fans of the show's later narrative arcs. It is recognized for its attention to detail, specifically the accurate rendering of the Pride Trooper uniform and Jiren’s distinctive facial features.
