Where it came from
John Cena figure number 136 is part of Funko's long-running Pop! WWE series, which captures iconic professional wrestlers in the company's signature stylized aesthetic. Released during a period when Funko was aggressively expanding its sports and pop culture licensing, the figure reflects the 'You Can't See Me' era of Cena's career, complete with his trademark spinning WWE Championship belt and jorts.
The design follows the standard Pop! vinyl template, characterized by a large, square-shaped head and simplified facial features, which were intended to distill the recognizable elements of a superstar into a collectible desktop scale. While the line has been criticized by some for its lack of anatomical detail, it has been widely received by wrestling fans as an accessible way to memorialize the era-defining performers of the WWE.
