Where it came from
Released as the inaugural figure in the Funko Pop! WWE series, this John Cena vinyl figure was designed to anchor a new line of collectibles celebrating professional wrestling icons. Its aesthetic follows the standardized Pop! silhouette, featuring the character's signature headband, wristbands, and Jorts, captured in the vibrant orange and green colorway that was synonymous with his 'You Can't See Me' branding during that era.
The figure debuted during a period when Funko was rapidly expanding its licensed offerings to include major sports and entertainment franchises. By assigning this item the number 01, the manufacturer signaled its importance to the wrestling product line. It was received as a standard collectible for the fanbase, marking the beginning of a long-running series that eventually encompassed dozens of wrestling legends and current stars.
