Where it came from
The Josh Baskin Funko Pop! figure, numbered 795 in the Pop! Movies line, was released to commemorate the 1988 fantasy film Big. The film, directed by Penny Marshall and starring Tom Hanks, remains a cultural touchstone for its whimsical exploration of childhood innocence within an adult world. Funko designed this figure to capture the iconic aesthetic of the character, specifically recreating the oversized, striped suit worn by Baskin during the film's memorable boardroom piano scene.
The figure reflects Funko's signature stylized design language, translating the human likeness into a simplified, vinyl form factor. As part of the broader Movies series, the release was aimed at nostalgia-driven collectors and fans of 1980s cinema. Upon its release, it was received as a straightforward tribute to the character, appealing to those who grew up watching the film and appreciate the tangible connection to its most recognizable visual moment.
