Where it came from
The Jyn Erso (Imperial Disguise) figure, designated number 152 within the Star Wars Pop! line, was released in late 2016 as part of the promotional rollout for the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This specific variant depicts the protagonist, Jyn Erso, in the tactical uniform she dons to infiltrate the Imperial base on Scarif. The figure reflects Funko's standard aesthetic of simplified proportions and enlarged heads, designed to appeal to both casual Star Wars enthusiasts and dedicated vinyl figure collectors during the heightened anticipation surrounding the first live-action standalone film in the franchise.
The character design was created by the Lucasfilm art department to signify Jyn's transformation from a reluctant rebel into a calculated operative. Funko's rendition leans into the utilitarian nature of the Imperial ground crew disguise, emphasizing the grey aesthetic and the distinct headgear worn during the film's climax. Upon release, the figure was met with positive reception for its attention to detail, specifically the inclusion of the communication headset, helping it secure a place as a recognizable staple within the broader Star Wars Rogue One collecting series.
