Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Television line in 2021, this figure depicts Kevin Malone, the beloved accountant from the American version of The Office. The character, played by Brian Baumgartner, became a pop culture icon for his gentle demeanor and comedic mishaps, most notably the 'spilled chili' sequence from the episode 'Casual Friday'. This specific figure captures that moment, featuring Kevin clutching a pot of his famous chili, a design choice intended to immortalize one of the series' most memorable visual gags.
The figure was developed under Funko’s licensing agreement with NBCUniversal to expand their expansive The Office collection. The design adheres to the brand's signature aesthetic, characterized by an oversized head and simplified, stylized features, while using the chili pot accessory as a tactile nod to the show's cult following. Upon release, it was well-received by fans and collectors who appreciated the specific attention to a fan-favorite character beat, quickly becoming a staple for enthusiasts of the mockumentary series.
