King Kandy

King Kandy was released as part of the Funko Pop! Retro Toys line, specifically capturing the iconic ruler of the Candy Kingdom from the classic 1949 Milton Bradley board game, Candy Land. This figure serves as a nostalgic tribute to the game's original illustrative style, which was updated over the decades but remains most associated with its mid-century origins. Funko designed this piece to appeal to adult collectors who grew up playing the game, focusing on his distinct crown and royal robes.

The character design leans into the whimsical, technicolor aesthetic that defined the Candy Land brand for generations. By choosing the 'Pop!' stylization—characterized by a large head and simplified, expressive features—Funko leaned into the toy-like quality of the character while maintaining his recognizable silhouette. Upon release, the figure was well-received by fans of board game memorabilia for its faithful representation of a mascot that had rarely been produced as a standalone collectible figure prior to this.
