Where it came from
Kon, the modified soul contained within a plush lion, is a central character in the long-running anime and manga series Bleach, created by Tite Kubo. This Pop! Animation figure, numbered 1615, was released as part of Funko's ongoing expansion of the Bleach line, aiming to capture the character's signature look from his debut arcs. The design emphasizes Kon's eccentric, exaggerated personality, featuring his oversized lion suit and wide, expressive eyes.
Funko produces these figures to cater to collectors who focus on iconic anime mascots and key supporting characters. This specific iteration is intended to complement the larger roster of Soul Reapers and Arrancars, maintaining the standardized vinyl aesthetic that defines the Pop! brand. Upon its release, it was received as a straightforward addition for series completists, valued primarily for representing a character that, while occasionally controversial among fans for his comic relief antics, remains an essential figure in the show's early lore.
