Kong Lian Er

Kong Lian Er is part of the Funko Pop! Asia series, a collection dedicated to characters from Eastern folklore, manga, and regional cultural icons. Released as part of the broader expansion of the Pop! vinyl line into international markets, this figure draws from traditional Chinese iconography. The design leans into the simplified, oversized-head aesthetic characteristic of the Funko brand, reinterpreting classic mythological traits into the modern collectible vinyl format.

The figure serves as a reflection of Funko’s strategy to bridge global pop culture with traditional motifs, aiming to appeal to both local audiences and international collectors of ethnic art-inspired toys. Like many figures in the Pop! Asia series, it was designed to capture the essence of its source inspiration while maintaining the uniform aesthetic that defines the Funko catalog. It has been well-regarded by collectors who focus on regional series and the stylistic diversification of the Pop! line.
