Where it came from
Released in 2019 as part of the Funko Pop! Marvel line, this figure depicts the character Korath the Pursuer as he appeared in the film Captain Marvel. The figure was produced to capitalize on the expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically the origin story of Carol Danvers, which revisited established cosmic characters in a 1990s setting.
The design follows the signature stylized aesthetic of the Pop! line, emphasizing Korath's cybernetic enhancements and his distinct tactical armor from the Kree Starforce. As a common release within the Marvel series, it was intended for wide distribution to collectors of MCU merchandise, receiving a standard reception as a faithful representation of the actor Djimon Hounsou’s portrayal in the film.
