Where it came from
Released in 2014 as part of Funko's Pop! Movies line, this figure depicts the Sindarin elf Legolas Greenleaf as he appeared in Peter Jackson's second installment of The Hobbit trilogy, The Desolation of Smaug. The figure was produced to capitalize on the enduring popularity of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth characters, specifically following the character's expanded role in the film adaptations compared to his brief mention in the source material.
The design follows the standard Pop! aesthetic, featuring the characteristic oversized square head and simplified features, styled here with Legolas's signature long blonde hair and elven tunic. The 'Blue Eyes' variant is a notable detail for collectors, distinguishing it from other production runs of the same character. While received as a standard piece of merchandise within the extensive licensed catalog of Funko, it remains a focal point for collectors of cinematic fantasy memorabilia.
