Where it came from
The Notre Dame Leprechaun Funko Pop, numbered 7 in the College series, was released to celebrate the iconic mascot of the University of Notre Dame. The figure features the familiar Fighting Irish mascot in his traditional green vest, bow tie, and shillelagh, capturing the spirited imagery that has represented the university’s athletic teams since the mascot was officially adopted in the 1960s.
Funko’s College line was designed to appeal to alumni and sports enthusiasts by translating collegiate mascots into the company's signature stylized aesthetic. The design team focused on maintaining the recognizable color palette and characteristic mischievous expression of the Leprechaun, ensuring the figure remained consistent with the brand's simplified, big-headed aesthetic while honoring the long-standing visual identity of Notre Dame athletics.
