Where it came from
The Lex Luger Funko Pop! figure, designated as number 159 within the WWE series, was released to commemorate one of the most recognizable figures in professional wrestling history. Luger, a prominent star throughout the 1980s and 1990s, rose to fame for his 'Total Package' persona and his high-profile feuds across both the NWA and the then-WWF. This figure captures his classic ring attire, reflecting the aesthetic of the 'New Generation' era of the 1990s.
Funko designed this piece to appeal to long-time wrestling enthusiasts, emphasizing the distinct, stylized proportions characteristic of the Pop! line. The figure features the signature blonde hair and muscular build that defined Luger’s presentation. Upon its release, it was received as a nostalgic collectible that bridged the gap between modern toy culture and professional wrestling fandom, serving as a dedicated tribute to an athlete who played a significant role in the sport’s mainstream expansion.
