Where it came from
The Lone Wolf Pop! Ride, numbered 304 in the Pop! Rides series, was released by Funko to celebrate the aesthetic of the post-apocalyptic classic Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. It features the iconic V8 Interceptor, a heavily modified 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT coupe that serves as the centerpiece of the film's gritty, high-octane visual identity. The design translates the vehicle's rugged, weathered appearance—complete with its signature rear supercharger and fuel tank setup—into the stylized, oversized-head aesthetic characteristic of the Funko brand.
This collectible emerged as part of a broader push by Funko to expand their product lines into legendary automotive cinema. The design process focused on capturing the silhouette and aggressive stance of the original cinematic prop, which was created for the screen by chief mechanic Murray Smith. Fans and collectors generally received the piece well, viewing it as a faithful homage to a cult-classic franchise that defined the dystopian action genre, solidifying its place in the broader catalog of cinematic memorabilia.
