Where it came from
The Makima Funko Pop! figure, numbered 1974 in the Pop! Animation line, was released as part of the initial wave of merchandise for the Chainsaw Man anime series. Based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the character of Makima serves as a central, enigmatic figure within the Public Safety Devil Hunters. This figure captures her signature professional appearance, featuring her formal suit, tie, and braided hair, designed to align with the stylized, large-headed aesthetic characteristic of Funko's broader product range.
Funko’s design team developed this figure to reflect the character's cold, composed demeanor as presented in the MAPPA-produced anime adaptation. The figure aims to provide fans with a recognizable desk-sized representation of the franchise's complex antagonist. Upon its release, it became a standard entry for collectors of contemporary shonen anime merchandise, fitting into the company's established model of translating highly detailed character designs into simplified vinyl forms.
