Where it came from
The Malthus with Annabelle Pop! Digital figure was released as part of a specialized series by Funko, which integrates traditional collectible figures with blockchain-authenticated digital assets. Launched during the rise of the 'NFT-to-physical' collectible trend, this piece represents the crossover between the horror franchise Annabelle: Creation and Funko's digital ecosystem, requiring collectors to obtain a specific 'Legendary' or 'Grail' token within the digital drop to redeem the physical vinyl figure.
The design draws directly from the chilling imagery of the 2017 film, featuring the haunted doll Annabelle seated in a chair, accompanied by the spectral presence of Samuel Malthus. Funko’s design team leaned into the film's gothic aesthetic, focusing on the intricate, weathered details of the doll's dress and the eerie, monochromatic influence of the Malthus character. It was received as a premium acquisition for horror enthusiasts, noted for its limited production run of 999 pieces.
