Where it came from
Released in 2024, this figure commemorates the 30th anniversary of the 1995 animated feature A Goofy Movie. The film serves as a cultural touchstone for 1990s animation, centering on the strained but evolving relationship between Goofy and his teenage son, Max Goof. Funko designed this Pop! as part of a curated wave to celebrate the film’s enduring cult following and its unique place in the Disney canon as a heartfelt, music-driven road trip narrative.
The figure features Max in his iconic 90s aesthetic, capturing the specific design sensibilities of the character as he appears during the film's climax at the Powerline concert. By maintaining the simplified, large-headed aesthetic characteristic of the Pop! line, the design prioritizes instant recognition of Max's signature red shirt and vest, appealing to collectors who value the film’s nostalgic impact and its distinct visual transition from the classic Disney style to the bolder, more kinetic energy of 90s animation.
