Michael Jackson

Released as part of the Funko Pop! Albums series, this collectible commemorates Michael Jackson’s seventh studio album, Bad, which was originally released in 1987. The figure captures the iconic aesthetic of the album cover, featuring Jackson in his signature buckle-adorned leather jacket, a look that defined the late-eighties pop landscape. The Albums series is designed to present a 3D vinyl figure alongside a scaled-back replica of the original record artwork, encased in a protective display box.

The figure draws inspiration from the high-contrast, moody photography of the original album cover, which shifted away from the polished, glittery aesthetic of his earlier work toward a tougher, more industrial style. Funko’s design team aimed to balance the stylized, oversized-head caricature of their standard line with the recognizable sharp angles of Jackson’s posture and costume from the era. Upon its release, the piece was met with significant interest from long-term fans and pop culture historians who view the Bad era as a pivotal moment in both music production and fashion history.
