Where it came from
Released as part of the Disneyland 65th Anniversary collection, this Funko Pop figure commemorates the Matterhorn Bobsleds, which opened in 1959 as the first tubular steel roller coaster in the world. The attraction was a major engineering milestone for Walt Disney Imagineering, representing a transition toward more high-thrill ride experiences within the park.
The figure features Mickey Mouse dressed in Alpine-themed attire, referencing the mountaineer aesthetic associated with the ride's Swiss-inspired setting. The design choice reflects the brand's focus on blending classic character heritage with specific, iconic historical landmarks found within the Disney theme parks.
