Where it came from
Mikasa Ackermann, released as number 1172 in the Funko Pop! Animation line, represents one of the central protagonists from the Attack on Titan franchise. This figure was produced to celebrate the series' immense global popularity, capturing Mikasa in her Survey Corps gear, complete with her signature vertical maneuvering equipment and blades. The design reflects the aesthetic conventions of the Funko brand, distilling the intense and stoic character into a stylized, vinyl form that appeals to collectors of anime-themed merchandise.
The figure draws its visual inspiration from the later seasons of the Attack on Titan anime adaptation. As a product within a long-running licensing deal between Funko and the franchise's rights holders, it serves as a piece of commemorative media for fans of Hajime Isayama’s seminal dark fantasy work. Upon its release, it became a staple of hobbyist shelves, appreciated for its detailed representation of the iconic Survey Corps uniform and its place within a broader, highly sought-after collection of anime figures.
