Where it came from
The Mooby's Mascot Funko Pop, numbered 137 in the Ad Icons series, represents the fictional fast-food chain central to Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse. First appearing in the 1999 film Dogma, Mooby the Golden Calf serves as a satirical take on corporate mascots, appearing throughout subsequent films like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks II. The figure was released as part of Funko's strategy to bring iconic fictional brands into their collectible Ad Icons lineup.
The design faithfully recreates the unsettling, sanitized aesthetic of the film's calf mascot, complete with its signature wide eyes and cheerful expression. It was released to coincide with the enduring cult status of Kevin Smith's filmography, catering to fans of the franchise who appreciate the meta-humor inherent in marketing a villainous or satirical corporate entity as a charming desk collectible.
