Where it came from
Mr. America was a short-lived character introduced in World Wrestling Entertainment during 2003. The persona was famously a masked wrestler whose identity was heavily implied to be Hulk Hogan, who was supposedly banned from the company at the time. This mystery served as a central plot device in a feud between Hogan and Vince McMahon, capturing the theatrical and often surreal nature of WWE storytelling during the early 2000s.
The Funko Pop design for Mr. America, numbered 162 in the WWE series, features the character’s signature red, white, and blue patriotic mask and attire. Funko’s stylized interpretation maintains the blocky aesthetic characteristic of the line while incorporating the specific aesthetic markers of the masked persona. It serves as a niche collectible for wrestling fans, appealing to those interested in the more unusual chapters of WWE's history.
