Where it came from
Mr. Big was released as part of the initial Pop! Disney wave for the 2016 animated film Zootopia. The figure depicts the character as he appears in the movie: a diminutive, mafia-boss Arctic shrew wearing a miniature tuxedo. Funko designed this piece to capture the ironic contrast between the character's small physical stature and his intimidating, Godfather-inspired persona.
The design process for the Zootopia line focused on translating the film's diverse range of animal species into the standardized Pop! aesthetic. Mr. Big was released as number 188 in the Disney series, coinciding with the film's theatrical debut. It was received favorably by collectors for its inclusion of a character that served as one of the film's most memorable comedic surprises.
