Mr. Peanut Character

Mr. Peanut was created in 1916 by Antonio Gentile, a young schoolboy who won a contest sponsored by the Planters Nut and Chocolate Company to design a brand mascot. He was later refined by commercial artist Andrew Wallower, who added the monocle, top hat, and cane that solidified his status as an icon of twentieth-century advertising. The character became one of the most recognizable corporate mascots in American history, representing the Planters brand for over a century across print media, television, and neon signage.

This Funko Pop! figure, numbered 1742 in the Movies series, was released to celebrate the enduring legacy of the character in pop culture. Funko's design team stylized the mascot into their signature vinyl form, maintaining his classic gentlemanly accessories while adjusting his proportions to fit the standard Pop! aesthetic. It serves as a tribute to the character's longevity and his evolution from a contest-winning sketch into a fixture of grocery store shelves and advertising history.
