Where it came from
Muttley first appeared as the sidekick to Dick Dastardly in the 1968 Hanna-Barbera animated series Wacky Races. Known for his iconic wheezing laugh and tendency to prioritize treats over villainy, Muttley became one of the most recognizable canine characters in television history, representing a classic era of Saturday morning cartoons defined by slapstick comedy and inventive, chaotic animation.
This Funko Pop! Pez dispenser, numbered 39 in the series, merges the distinct aesthetic of Funko’s vinyl figure line with the traditional mechanics of a Pez candy dispenser. Released as part of a wider collaboration between Funko and the Pez brand, the design captures Muttley’s signature smirk and aviator goggles, appealing to collectors who appreciate the intersection of nostalgic character design and modern pop-culture collectibles.
