Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure commemorates the character of Oddjob, the iconic henchman from the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger. The figure captures the character's signature look, including his bowler hat and suit, reflecting the classic aesthetic of the villain portrayed by actor Harold Sakata. Funko designed this piece to appeal to fans of the long-running 007 franchise, situating it within a series that celebrates cinematic history through the company's distinctive stylized vinyl form factor.
The design of the figure emphasizes the most recognizable elements of Oddjob, particularly his lethal, razor-rimmed bowler hat which serves as his primary trademark. By simplifying the character's complex features into the standardized Pop! silhouette, the designers focused on maintaining the immediate visual recognizability essential for collectible pop culture merchandise. Upon its release, the figure was generally well-received by Bond enthusiasts and toy collectors alike as a faithful, miniature representation of a foundational antagonist in spy cinema.
