Where it came from
Old Man Logan, released as number 235 in the Pop! Marvel series, draws its inspiration from the seminal 2008 comic book miniseries written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Steve McNiven. This storyline presents a dystopian future where supervillains have conquered the United States, forcing an elderly, pacifist Wolverine into a reluctant journey across the wasteland. The figure captures the character's rugged aesthetic from the series, featuring his weathered appearance and trademark weathered coat, serving as a homage to one of the most critically acclaimed graphic novels in modern X-Men history.
Funko designed this piece to translate the gritty, grounded visual language of the comic to their iconic stylized form. By distilling the somber tone of the source material into a collectible figure, the design team focused on the specific visual markers of Logan's aged state. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the comic and Wolverine collectors alike, as it represented a rare departure from the traditional yellow-and-blue superhero costume, leaning instead into the character's more cinematic and narrative-heavy iteration.
