Where it came from
The Panda figure, released as number 550 within the Pop! Animation line, is based on the middle brother from the Cartoon Network series We Bare Bears. Created by Daniel Chong, the show debuted in 2015 and centers on the humorous, relatable struggles of three bear siblings attempting to integrate into modern human society in the San Francisco Bay Area. Funko introduced this figure to capture the character's distinct personality, specifically his love for technology, social media, and his tendency toward social anxiety.
The design of the figure emphasizes Panda's signature aesthetic, including his round frame, black-and-white coloring, and his expressive, worried eyes that highlight his sensitive nature. Like many items in the Animation series, the figure was designed to be a recognizable representation of contemporary Western animation, appealing to both adult fans of the show's subversive humor and younger viewers drawn to the characters' endearing dynamic.
