Where it came from
Paws, the official mascot of the Detroit Tigers, was immortalized as Funko Pop number 11 in the MLB series. Released as part of the initial wave of baseball-themed figures, this collectible pays tribute to the beloved anthropomorphic tiger who has served as the team's primary mascot since 1995. The design captures the character's familiar athletic build, signature cap, and friendly expression, mirroring the live mascot's presence at Comerica Park.
The figure was produced during a period when Funko was aggressively expanding its licensing reach to include professional sports leagues. While specific designer names for individual Pop figures are rarely credited publicly, the series was created to appeal to fans looking for desk-sized representations of their team allegiances. Upon release, it was received as a standard entry in the growing Pop Sports line, finding its primary audience among Detroit baseball collectors and mascot enthusiasts.
