Pete

Released as part of the Pop! Digital series by Funko, Pete appears here as a digital collectible token, or 'NFT,' that offers the holder the opportunity to redeem a physical figurine. This transition from traditional manufacturing to a blockchain-integrated ecosystem reflects Funko's pivot during the early 2020s to capture the emerging interest in digital scarcity and crypto-collectibles. The item was designed to mirror the classic aesthetic of Pete, the oldest recurring Disney character, maintaining the brand’s signature oversized head and stylized features while integrating the unique distribution model of the digital-first era.

The character design remains faithful to Pete's long-standing portrayal as Mickey Mouse’s primary antagonist, utilizing the bold colors and minimalist lines characteristic of the Pop! aesthetic. As a digital-physical hybrid release, this item was marketed to fans of the Mickey and Friends franchise who sought both exclusive digital assets and physical collectibles. Like other entries in the Digital series, its reception was largely defined by its limited redemption window and the gamification of the collecting experience, appealing primarily to completionists and those deeply integrated into the digital asset community.
