Where it came from
Petrie, the lovable Pteranodon from the 1988 animated classic The Land Before Time, was released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, specifically designated as number 1840. The figure captures the character's distinctively nervous yet endearing personality, complete with his signature oversized head, wide eyes, and small, expressive wings, reflecting the iconic hand-drawn animation style pioneered by Don Bluth.
Designed to commemorate the enduring legacy of the original film, the figure serves as a nostalgic touchpoint for a generation that grew up watching the adventures of Littlefoot and his friends. Funko designed this release to maintain the stylistic consistency of their wider animation collection while ensuring the character remained recognizable to fans of the prehistoric adventure series.
