Piece of Mind Eddie

Released as part of the Funko Pop! Rocks series in 2021, this figure depicts Eddie, the long-standing mascot of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. The design is based on the iconic cover art of the band's 1983 studio album, Piece of Mind, which features a lobotomized Eddie restrained in a padded cell. This specific iteration captures the creature's signature look during the band's transition into their most commercially successful era, translating the grim illustrative style of Derek Riggs into the stylized, large-headed aesthetic of the Pop! vinyl line.

The figure was created to celebrate the enduring legacy of Iron Maiden and the artistic significance of their mascot, who has appeared on almost every album and tour advertisement in the group's history. By focusing on the Piece of Mind era, Funko tapped into a distinct chapter of metal iconography that remains recognizable even outside of the band's dedicated fanbase. The figure was well-received by collectors for its attention to detail, specifically the inclusion of the metal bars and the straitjacket motif that define the original album's menacing aesthetic.
