Pigpatch was released as part of the Five Nights at Freddy's Pop! Games series, specifically representing the character from the 2017 survival horror game Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. As a member of the Posh Pizzeria animatronic group, the character is depicted with his signature banjo and colorful, weathered aesthetic. Funko developed this line to capture the franchise's distinct blend of mascot horror and mechanical decay, aiming to translate the stylized, unsettling designs of the game's creator, Scott Cawthon, into the standardized, large-headed aesthetic of the Pop! vinyl format.

The design process for this figure focused on maintaining the character's unique identity while adhering to the technical limitations of the Funko mold.
