Where it came from
Neferpitou, often referred to as Pitou, is a central antagonist from the Chimera Ant arc of the Hunter x Hunter anime and manga series. Created by Yoshihiro Togashi, the character is a member of the Chimera Ant Royal Guard, noted for its cat-like appearance and immense, intimidating aura. This Funko Pop figure, released under the Pop! Animation line as number 1231, captures the character's signature look, including its silver hair and distinctive expressive eyes, reflecting the high-stakes, dark-fantasy aesthetic of the series.
The figure was produced as part of the broader Hunter x Hunter expansion by Funko, which sought to capitalize on the series' enduring popularity and complex character designs. Designers focused on translating Pitou’s unsettling yet stoic design into the simplified, stylized proportions characteristic of the Pop! brand. The item was well-received by fans of the franchise for its faithful representation of the Royal Guard's unsettling presence, serving as a popular addition for collectors of modern anime memorabilia.
