Provenance

Where it came from

Porunga, the legendary Namekian dragon, made its debut in the Pop! Animation series as a stylized vinyl figure released as a 2018 Emerald City Comic Con exclusive. Designed by the Funko creative team, the figure was crafted to capture the imposing, muscular physique of the character from the Dragon Ball Z franchise. It serves as a supersized entry in the line, reflecting the massive scale of the dragon compared to typical humanoid figures.

The design emphasizes the distinct, reptilian features of the dragon, including his vibrant green skin, spiked back, and expansive wingspan. As a high-demand convention exclusive, it was created to cater to dedicated collectors of the series, aiming to translate Akira Toriyama's complex character art into the signature Funko aesthetic. The figure was well-received upon launch for its impressive size and fidelity to the source material, quickly becoming a centerpiece for fans of the Dragon Ball Z animation series.
