Where it came from
Rex, the anxious Tyrannosaurus rex from the Toy Story franchise, was immortalized as Funko Pop! figure number 1091 as part of the ongoing Disney collection. This specific iteration was released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original 1995 film, a landmark achievement in animation history as the first feature-length film created entirely with computer-generated imagery by Pixar Animation Studios.
The character design reflects Rex's iconic appearance—characterized by his diminutive arms, panicked expression, and vibrant green plastic aesthetic. Funko’s stylized interpretation maintains the recognizable proportions that have made Rex a fan-favorite comedic relief since his debut, aiming to capture the essence of a toy that is perpetually worried about being replaced or overshadowed by more advanced action figures.
