Where it came from
The Ric Flair Diamond Glitter Funko Pop, numbered 82 in the WWE series, was released as a specialized variant of the standard Ric Flair figure. It draws its aesthetic from the legendary wrestler's iconic 'Nature Boy' persona, characterized by his flamboyant, jewel-toned ring robes. This specific variant was designed to capture the glitz of professional wrestling in the 1980s and 90s, utilizing a diamond-dusted finish on the robe to emulate the shimmering sequins Flair famously wore during his entrance sequences.
Funko produced this figure as part of its ongoing collaboration with WWE to honor Hall of Fame icons. The design team focused on maintaining the recognizable Funko aesthetic while elevating the materials to appeal to collectors who favor glitter or 'chase' style variants. Upon release, the figure was well-received by wrestling memorabilia enthusiasts who appreciated the thematic alignment between the character's exuberant real-life wardrobe and the tactile, sparkling texture of the collectible.
