Where it came from
Released in 2016, the Rika Pop! figure was created to celebrate the fifth anniversary of WePlay, a prominent platform and community hub for gaming and pop culture enthusiasts in Asia. The figure serves as a collectible mascot representation of the brand's identity during a period when the Funko Pop! Asia line was expanding rapidly to cater to regional markets and specialized cultural events.
The design follows the signature Funko aesthetic, featuring the stylized, oversized head and minimalist features that define the brand. As part of the Pop! Asia series, the figure reflects a move toward localized collaborations and event-exclusive merchandising. It was received primarily by collectors focused on Asian-market exclusives and those looking to commemorate the milestone of the WePlay platform's development.
