Where it came from
The Robin Sparkles Pop! figure, numbered 1040 in the Television series, was released by Funko to commemorate the iconic character from the long-running sitcom How I Met Your Mother. The character first appeared in the 2008 episode 'Slap Bet,' serving as a humorous reveal of Robin Scherbatsky’s secret past as a Canadian teen pop star. Her music video 'Let’s Go to the Mall' became a cultural touchstone for the show, parodying 1980s synth-pop and Canadian pop culture tropes of the era.
Designed in the signature Funko aesthetic, the figure captures Sparkles in her quintessential 80s mall-pop attire, complete with denim jacket, colorful accessories, and her trademark high-ponytail hairstyle. It was intended as a nostalgic nod for fans of the show, focusing on one of its most memorable recurring comedic bits. Upon release, the figure was well-received by collectors who appreciated the specific attention to the show's lore and the playful nature of the character's design.
