Robot B9

The B9 Environmental Control Robot, commonly referred to as Robot B9, was introduced by Funko as part of their Pop! Television line, cataloged as number 92. The figure pays homage to the iconic mechanical character from the 1965 science fiction series Lost in Space, created by Irwin Allen. The design reflects the mid-century modern aesthetic of the original television prop, capturing the distinctive bubble-headed, claw-handed appearance that became a hallmark of sixties space-age futurism.

Funko’s stylized interpretation utilizes the classic Pop! form factor, featuring the oversized head and simplified proportions characteristic of the brand's aesthetic. Released during a period when Funko was expanding its reach into classic television properties, the figure aimed to appeal to both long-time fans of the original series and contemporary collectors. Upon release, it was well-received for its attention to detail, specifically the paint applications on the chest control panel and the translucent dome, which helped distinguish it within the broader Pop! Television collection.
